THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED 1854 LITHOGRAPH COVER TO THE IONIAN ISLANDS, WHICH WAS UNDER BRITISH ADMINISTRATION. A FANTASTIC AND EXOTIC DESTINATION. This franking paid the 2a inland rate plus 8a ship rate to Corfu. With the Treaty of Paris in 1815, the British took control of the Ionian Islands, and the islands remained part of the British Empire until transferred to Greece in 1862. With 2014 B.P.A. certificate.
