COLLECTIBLE 1854, ½a Blue, Die I (2; SG 2). Horizontal pair and strip of three, huge to large balanced margins all around, tied by "1" diamond grid cancels of Bombay on Mar. 1857 cover to Bushire, cover with file fold at left not affecting stamps, stamps just affected by gum used for adhesion and were lifted and replaced for examination VERY FINE AND A PARTICULARLY RARE DESTINATION, ESPECIALLY WITH POSTAGE PAID BY A LARGE-MARGINED PAIR AND STRIP OF THE HALF-ANNA LITHOGRAPH. India 1854 Lithographs used to Bushire are quite rare, since a postal agency was not established there until 1857, toward the end of the stamps' period of use. Rates to Bushire corresponded to domestic inland rates. The 2½a paid on this cover likely represents an overpayment of the 2a ship rate. Ex Dr. Kornan. With 2000 B.P.A. Certificate.
